On November 23, the traditional Mechanical Engineering Academy took place at Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana. The event brings together academics, business, and government representatives under one roof and honors outstanding individuals in the field of engineering with the presentation of awards.
The Academy of Mechanical Engineering, organized by the Association of Mechanical Engineers of Slovenia, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Metal Industry and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Ljubljana, has been maintaining its tradition for more than a decade, encouraging the association of engineers, and drawing attention to the importance of the engineering profession.
IM has been supporting the organization of the event for many years in a row, as we highly value the knowledge of Slovenian engineers, and at the same time support the education and development of the young generation in this field.
A round table was held at the event, in which many Slovenian businessmen shared their views on the current situation and their experiences, including the executive director of IM, Mr. Marjan Pogačnik. When asked, how he sees sustainable development in connection with localization and globalization, he explained: “I believe sustainability needs to be addressed on a global level, however, we also need to consider the increasing trend of localization, especially in terms of personalization. The future will not be based on large quantities of a certain product, but rather on more personalized products and services. This way, localization and self-sufficiency will gain new momentum“.
